MetroPCS today announced the availability of two new visual voicemail services to a select number of handsets. Visual Voicemail allows customers to see their voicemails listed on the phone and listen to them in whichever order they prefer. Visual Voicemail Plus adds transcriptions of the messages into text format. Both options let customers respond to voice messages via voice call, SMS, MMS, and/or email. These new visual voicemail services will first be available to the Samsung Galaxy Indulge, the LG Optimus M, and the Huawei Ascend. A minimum monthly plan of $45 is required for non-4G phones and a minimum monthly plan of $50 is required for 4G phones. Visual Voice Mail Plus is an additional $5 on each plan. MetroPCS said that visual voicemail will be available to the Blackberry 8530 and BREW-based devices soon.
